Plastics Mixer
Mixers or blenders are used to premix the base polymer and additives for further process.
Kneader Extruder/Kneader Mixer
This kneader is also called Banbury Mixer. It blends and compounds the polymers in a closed chamber at a preset temperature and pressure by a couple of kneading rotors with certain shape. The whole system consists of the kneading chamber, rotor, sealing of rotor, feeding and compacting unit, discharge unit, transmission unit and base frame.
It becomes more popular in plastic process working as a pre-mixer before the extrusion equipments. Its applications include but not limited to high-percentage filling, color master batching and heat sensitive polymers.
PVC Compound Mixer
This set of combined mixers is used for mixing, blending, drying and colouring in plastic industry, rubber, pharmacy, fuel, food and daily chemicals. The typical applications in polymer process are PVC and wood plastic composite (WPC). The raw material is mixed in the heating mixer and then is discharged into the cooling mixer where the raw material is cooled. So clotting and degradation can be avoided and there is more time for the additives to penetrate into the base material. Meanwhile residual moisture will escape and the cooling mixer can be temporarily taken as a storage silo.
The medium of cooling is water or oil.
Vertical Batch Mixer
Vertical batch mixer is used for quick blending and quick drying. The raw materials inside are elevated from the bottom to the top when the screw shaft spins rapidly. Then they will fall down to the bottom in the movement of an opened umbrella. The materials are repeatedly tumbled and get well mixed. On the top of the drum there is a hot air fan. Moisture can be removed with the hot air flow. It’s an ideal handling equipment for preparation of master batches (virgin material and recycled material, base material and color pigment etc.).
