Split Barrel Extruder

This parallel co-rotating twin screw compounder has split-barrel design, which means, the barrels are half split and can be opened within several minutes. It’s meaningful for R&D, machine maintenance and servicing. When compounding master batches, colors are likely to be changed very often. With the split-barrel design, the upper part of barrels of extruder can be lifted up, so the operator can conveniently clean the screws and barrels. This saves the use of raw polymers. At the same time, we can see with our eyes the wearing of these parts. In the same meaning, the repairing or replacing of these worn parts are very quick. In R&D field, the extrusion process can be entirely monitored through the visible barrels.
